I also am lucky there is magic in my house. I'm so fortunate to have had half a century with a caring husband who loves to cook! I love it too, but we have much different skills. I make one-pot dishes: soup, stews, pasta sauce. Never the same one twice, as I love stirring my brew and adding my witchy magic. He makes none of those. He's the master chef of full three course-dinners, which I have never mastered.

Lots of variety and the spice of life. He was my strength and my stay as we were raising our daughter and I was a full-time school principal. He learned not to phone me and ask, "What do you want for dinner?" After a day of making dozens of decisions, I would have gladly eaten a grilled cheese sandwich. He did all the shopping and made all the meals except on weekends. We'd have eaten a lot of soup, otherwise. LOL

Boy can I relate to the agent search. I even scored a Zoom call with a big-name New York agent, during a conference, was all excited, working for hours to hone my 5-minute pitch. He blew me off in about two minutes, in a very rude manner. I also queried about 50 using Query Tracker, to no avail. It's so disheartening. I'm glad we both found another way, and supportive publishers who believe in our work. That's magic, too, right? We also can cheer each other onwards and upwards.
