Oh my dear friend, how I'm celebrating you, crying with you and cheering you on (all of us really). Thanks for being our cheerleader and pioneer in this crazy new world. And I love knowing that the number 7 signals completion (I just finished my master's degree and it also took 7 years). I look forward to the day we can celebrate again in person - keep me posted on your Sedona plans. Cheers!

A wonderful recap with lots to think about. And that image of your mom at the launch-that’s just beautiful. Amazing how the people we love are never really gone.

I love this post, Joan, and can relate so well to the rush of emotions and the pride we can sense in our departed loved ones. That's partly why I persisted to finish my book, as a tribute to them, and also a legacy to pass on. You have done that, in spades! Not only that, but you have educated people about a largely forgotten heroine who was behind the fame of Vincent Van Gogh! How wonderful for the world to know about Jo, in this way. I stood in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and while you have said there is a section about her, I didn't even notice it. I have since learned through your book that she is the reason that such a display even exists!

You should be so pleased and proud, as I am sure your family, past and present, are proud of you. Bravo! My book is coming from Simon and Shuster, in Canada, and should be here any day! Can't wait to share it with others, who don't know the story of Jo Van Gogh!

Joan, my early morning walking buddy in Houston has mentioned your book to me - TWICE. I love getting ‘handsold’ a book and am looking forward to reading. Thanks for sharing this insight and congratulations!
